MANSFIELD, Ohio — A 30-year-old man is dead after a crash in Richland County Monday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers were called to state Route 430 at the intersection of Stewart Road in Mansfield around 8:30 a.m. on a report of a two-vehicle crash.

According to OSHP, a preliminary investigation shows that a Kia Forte was heading east on Route 430 attempting to turn north onto Stewart Road when it failed to yield to a Ford F-150.

The Ford struck the Kia, forcing the Kia off the road and the Ford then struck a utility pole.

OSHP says that the driver and passenger in the Kia were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Ford and both occupants of the Kia were taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. The passenger of the Kia, Zachary Evans, of Eastlake, later died, according to OSHP.

It's unclear what the condition of the two drivers is.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Township Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
