COLUMBUS, Ohio — A referee is in stable condition after getting in the middle of a fight during a football game Friday night.
Police say they were dispatched to Marion-Franklin High School around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
A spokesperson for Columbus City Schools says there was an ‘altercation’ between players on the field and the referee was “trying to deescalate the situation.”
The game was called in the third quarter due to the altercation. Walnut Ridge won the game.
There is no word on if any charges will be filed.
