Red, White & BOOM!: What you need to know

Wednesday, the city's "Red, White & BOOM!" celebration will be returning to the streets of downtown Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Wednesday, the city's "Red, White & BOOM!" celebration will be returning to the streets of downtown Columbus where approximately 500,000 people are expected to attend.

Safety:

According to Columbus police, event-goers can test "RWB2019" to 888-777 for emergency text notifications.

Monday, authorities held a briefing on road closures and other safety measures for the event.

Fireworks:

The fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. and will last about 26 minutes. The fireworks will be launched from Genoa Park and can be seen over the river.

Parking:
"Red, White & BOOM!" is allowing spectators to reserve parking online, which can be done here.

Otherwise, parking can be found in locations around the Arena District, Columbus Commons, COSI and Greater Columbus Convention Center. Surface lots can be found here.
