COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and bandleader Jon Batiste will join the ProMusica Columbus Chamber Orchestra for a two-concert residency this May.

On May 2, the first concert will feature Batiste and his jazz trio alongside the orchestra. A day later on May 3, Batiste will premiere a brand-new original composition commissioned by ProMusica Columbus.

The shows will take place at the Southern Theatre at 8 p.m.

“We are so honored to welcome back Jon Batiste to ProMusica and Columbus, and for the opportunity to create and collaborate on this unique and genre-bending original work and residency,” said ProMusica CEO Janet Chen in a press release. “Jon is a model for the future of our musical world, and we are grateful for his friendship and for trusting ProMusica to explore, discover, and innovate together, through the joy of music.”
