Moms2B, a weekly prenatal education program provided by OSU Wexner Medical Center and CelebrateOne, has opened its sixth location in central Ohio.
"This is a group model within the community where a lot of our moms can walk to where we are," Founder Dr. Pat Gabbe said.
Moms2B started in 2010 with one location at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Weinland Park.
"There are still not [many] programs that really help that mom that's living in poverty in her own neighborhood," said Dr. Gabbe.
Moms2B held an open house Wednesday at its new southeast location at New Birth Christian Ministries on Refugee Road.
"We have over a thousand births and so it's a high impact area," said Dr. Gabbe. "I would like to reach all the pregnant moms."
One of the first mom's to attend the event was 21-year-old Tamitha Osorio. She is 22 weeks pregnant with a baby boy.
"I was worried about like breast feeding and if I was doing the right job," she said. "And, I asked them some questions and they were like, 'yea this is how it goes!"
Osorio said she expected more of a class atmosphere, but was excited to see how loving the program facilitators were.
"I would love to come back here! I don't want to leave!," she said excitedly.
