COLUMBUS, Ohio - A woman was found dead in a car found upside down in floodwaters in southeast Columbus, according to Columbus police.
Police said they received a call around 2 p.m. Tuesday of a silver vehicle upside down and off the roadway.
Officers and medics responded to the 2200 block of South Hamilton Road after the car was spotted by someone who was passing by.
46-year-old Tonya Brown was found inside the car, which was upside down in a culvert, according to police.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene just after 2:15 p.m.
Brown's family reported her missing earlier in the day on Tuesday.
Police are still investigating all contributing factors related to the cause of the death.
Preliminary information indicates there was high water in the area when Ms. Brown disappeared.
