NEWARK - Newark Police have arrested the suspect from a shooting that happened on Day Avenue Thursday evening.
Chief Barry Connell said a victim who has now been identified as Lawrence Bartlett, Jr., 77 was shot in what appears to be a robbery attempt.
Bartlett was flown to a Columbus hospital in an unknown condition.
Police searched for a suspect when he fled the scene until a nearby resident led them to the evidence which helped them identify the suspect as Codey Spears, and he was taken into custody.
Bartlett continues to be treated for his injuries.
