Columbus police say a SWAT standoff in the Hilliard area ended after the man shot and killed himself.
Police were called to a home Goose Falls Drive, just north of Hayden Run, just after noon on Monday on the report of a "distraught man with a gun.”
Columbus police officers initially responded and called in SWAT as well as hostage negotiators.
Police said his wife and children got out of the home before the shooting occurred.
