Police: Man dies three days after being found in north Columbus motel

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A man died three days after he was found in a motel room with a phone cord wrapped around his neck in north Columbus, according to Columbus police.

Officers were called to the Super 8 Motel in the 1000 block of East Dublin Granville Road around 4:30 a.m. on July 22.

Marshall Williams, 35, was found lying partially on the bed.

He was taken to Mount Carmel St. Ann's in critical condition.

Williams was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m. on July 25.

Police said 37-year-old Adea Williams admitted to wrapping the cord around the man's neck.

She was initially charged with felonious assault but the charges were changed to murder after Marshall Williams passed away.

Adea Williams is in custody at the Franklin County jail awaiting arraignment.

Police said this is the 60th homicide of the year in the city of Columbus.
