Police looking for suspect in southeast Columbus bank robbery

Columbus police are looking for a suspect in a bank robbery on the city’s southeast side.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police are looking for a suspect in a bank robbery on the city’s southeast side.

Police said a man in his 30s walked into the Fifth Third Bank inside Kroger in the 3500 block of Gender Road around 6 p.m. on July 24.

Police said he passed a note to the teller demanding money. He was able to steal an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was wearing a gray shirt with black three-quarter length sleeves with “Buckeyes” across the front, police said.

He also had a tattooed right forearm and was wearing shorts with a camouflage pattern, tan boots, a blue bandana on his head, and white-framed sunglasses with purple-tinted lenses.

He left the scene in a small black SUV with no front license plate and plastic taped over a broken out rear window.
