Police identify victim killed in southeast Columbus shooting; suspect charged with murder

Police have identified the man killed in a shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in southeast Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police have identified the man killed in a shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in southeast Columbus.

According to police, 20-year-old Kahalil Swayne died after he was shot in the 2600 block of Maybury Road near Refugee Road.

Police responded to the scene at around 2:15 p.m. Swayne was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital, and was pronounced dead just after 3 p.m., according to police.

Police have arrested 21-year-old Carlos Favours Jr. and charged him with murder. He is set to appear in court on Monday.
