COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 9-year-old child died after being struck by a car in east Columbus Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 4:30 p.m., a black Nissan Versa was heading northbound on South Napoleon Avenue north of Plymouth Avenue.
At the same time, a child, who was later identified as Sa'Riya Taylor, ran into the road from the east into the path of the car and was struck by the vehicle.
The Nissan also struck a white Ford van, police said.
Taylor was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, according to police. No other injuries were reported.
