3 injured in northeast Columbus crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three people were injured after a crash on the city's northeast side Friday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

The crash happened at the intersection of Leonard and Brentnell avenues just after 8:20 p.m. 

Police said a 2010 Ford Escape and a 2007 Honda Odyssey collided at the intersection.

The driver and passenger of the Ford Escape were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Honda Odyssey was also transported to a nearby hospital. Police describe their condition as "stable." All are expected to survive their injuries.

It is unclear what led up to the crash, but police said the driver of the Ford Escape left the scene and was apprehended a short distance away.

The incident remains under investigation.
