Police: 3 injured in west Columbus shooting

Officers were called to an apartment building on South Burgess Avenue, near West Broad Street, just before 4 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three people were shot on the city's west side early Saturday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to an apartment building on South Burgess Avenue, near West Broad Street, just before 4 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

As they were securing the scene, officers were then called to the intersection of West Broad Street and Georgesville Road, two miles away from the apartment building. When they arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

The men were transported to Grant Medical Center and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. One victim is listed in critical condition, while the other's condition is described as "stable," according to police. Police said all are expected to survive their injuries.

Investigators believe the victims were caught in the crossfire of several groups of people shooting at each other after an argument.
