Man accused of stabbing two at warming center near Ohio State campus arrested

Bobby Taylor was arrested a day after the stabbing occurred.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man accused of stabbing two people at a church that was being used as a warming center near the Ohio State University was arrested a day after the incident.

Officers were called to East 16th Avenue on Feb. 10, which is just east of North High Street.

Police found two people with stab wounds, both of whom were taken to Ohio State Wexner Medical Center to be treated. The victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

Franklin County Municipal Court documents say detectives spoke with multiple witnesses of the stabbing.

One witness claims she and the two victims were smoking in front of the church when the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Bobby Taylor, walked out of the building and stabbed the victims without provocation. The witness was able to identify Taylor in a lineup, court documents say.

Detectives also spoke with the victims at the hospital who said they had no prior incidents with Taylor and they weren't sure why they were targeted.

Taylor was arrested on Feb. 11 and has been charged with two counts of felonious assault, according to court documents.
