Police: 2 critically injured in Franklinton shooting

Officers were called to the intersection of Sullivant and Hawkes avenues just after 2:45 a.m. Sunday on reports of a shooting.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two people were seriously injured in a shooting on the city's west side early Sunday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the intersection of Sullivant and Hawkes avenues, just after 2:45 a.m., on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said that due to the severity of the victim's injuries, the homicide unit is investigating the shooting.

There is no suspect information at this time, and it is unclear what led up to the shooting.
