COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 19-year-old man was hospitalized after he was found shot on a freeway on the city's east side Sunday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers responded to reports of a stranded vehicle on Interstate 270 and East Broad Street around 8:10 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the man, identified by his mother as Donald Jessie Jr., inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
Jessie was taken to Mount Carmel East in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police say the shooting happened at another location, but have not determined where as of Monday morning.
