COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is injured after being shot on Interstate 71 near downtown Columbus early Saturday morning, police said.
Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the area of I-71 and Interstate 670 just before 2:40 a.m. on reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim told police they were in their vehicle when they were struck by gunfire from an unknown person.
Details on what led to the shooting were not provided.
The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center for treatment. Police said they are expected to survive their injuries.
I-71 in both directions was shut down, but reopened around 4:30 a.m, according to police.
