Police: 1 seriously hurt after hit-and-run in south Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in south Columbus Saturday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police said officers were called to the intersection of Parsons and Frebis avenues around 7:20 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian struck. 

Investigators believe an unidentified passenger vehicle entered the intersection from Frebis and turned left onto Parsons, striking a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to Grant Medical Center with what police describe as "significant" injuries, but is expected to survive.
