COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was arrested Saturday and charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man on the city’s north side, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers were called to the 300 block of West 3rd Avenue, west of Neil Avenue, just before 5 a.m. on an unknown complaint. When officers arrived, they were flagged down by an individual who said there was a man inside the location who had been shot.
Sgt. James Fuqua told 10TV that the man, identified as Michael Robinson, was suffering from "multiple" gunshot wounds.
Officers rendered aid to Robinson until medics arrived and pronounced him dead at 5:10 a.m.
It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
Fuqua said that they had a "person of interest" in custody who was picked up near the area where the shooting took place. Police later announced the arrest of 24-year-old Mahamood Hassan, who was charged with murder.
The incident remains under investigation.
