WORTHINGTON, Ohio — A man was arrested and charged with felonious assault and domestic violence in connection to a shooting on state Route 315 in Worthington that left one person injured on Friday.
The incident happened on state Route 315 South near state Route 161 sometime before 9 p.m., according to Worthington Assistant City Manager David McCorkle.
Officers with the Worthington Division of Police found a female victim, later identified as a passenger in the vehicle, lying outside with a gunshot wound on her neck.
She was taken to The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in what police described as “stable” condition. Teddy Oliva Neira, 34, was suspected of shooting the female and was taken into custody at the scene, according to Franklin County Municipal Court documents.
The shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, but officials did not provide additional details.
Neira is expected to appear in court Monday morning for his arraignment.
