Police: 2-year-old injured in drive-by shooting in southeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 2-year-old boy was injured during a drive-by shooting in southeast Columbus Saturday evening, according to Columbus Division of Police Sgt. Joseph Albert.

Officers were called on a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Ellsworth Avenue near East Sycamore Street around 10:12 p.m.

A public safety dispatcher initially told 10TV that the victim was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in critical condition.

Albert later confirmed the victim, a 2-year-old boy, had been upgraded to "stable" condition.

He said the boy was shot while inside his home.

Information on a possible suspect or what led to the shooting was not immediately available.
