LANCASTER, Ohio — An elderly man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Lancaster Friday evening, according to police.
According to the Lancaster Police Department, officers responded to an injury accident involving a pedestrian in the 1600 block of East Main Street, just before 8 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the man lying in the road and unresponsive. Medics transported the man to Fairfield Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The roadway was shut down while authorities investigated, but has since reopened.
