COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was critically injured after they were struck by a vehicle in southeast Columbus Wednesday morning, police said.
The crash happened just before 5 a.m. near the intersection of Gender Road and Abbie Trails Drive.
Columbus police say a Chevrolet TrailBlazer hit a pedestrian attempting to cross Gender Road near Abbie Trails Drive. The center of the TrailBlazer hit the pedestrian and knocked them off the east side of the roadway.
The pedestrian was taken to Grant Medical Center where they remain in critical condition.
Gender Road was closed between Lowridge Drive and Abbie Trails Drive but has since reopened.
Columbus police are still investigating the incident.
