COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian is in critical condition after they were struck by a vehicle on the city’s north side early Sunday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
According to police, the pedestrian was crossing East 5th Avenue, near North 4th Street, around 1:15 a.m. when they were hit by a Honda Accord traveling eastbound on 5th. The driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police describe the Honda as being tan or gold in color with damage to its front bumper and passenger side mirror.
The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
