Police: Pedestrian injured after being hit by car in southwest Columbus

Police said the crash happened just before 6 p.m. near Domino's Pizza, located at 1365 Georgesville Road.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on the city's southwest side Sunday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police said the crash happened just before 6 p.m. near Domino's Pizza, located at 1365 Georgesville Road. A Ford pickup truck was traveling through the parking lot and struck a pedestrian that was off the paved area of the lot.

The pedestrian was initially taken to Grant Medical Center in serious condition but is now said to be in critical condition.

The driver involved did not stay at the scene.

Sgt. Joseph Albert said officers were in the area of Georgesville Road and Parkwick Drive for a robbery that had occurred nearby and were able to locate the vehicle involved. The driver has been taken into custody.
