Police: Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in hit-and-run in west Columbus

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person sustained serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle in west Columbus Saturday evening, police said.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, a pedestrian was crossing West Broad Street at North Ogden Avenue around 7:30 p.m. A red small vehicle was traveling west on West Broad Street and struck the pedestrian.

The vehicle did not stay at the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the crash scene and initiated an investigation.
