COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after they were hit by a vehicle in south Columbus Friday afternoon, police said.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, a pedestrian was crossing Greenlawn Avenue near Interstate 71 just after 3:30 p.m. when they were struck by a vehicle. The vehicle, reportedly described as a truck, fled the scene.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
