Police: Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by vehicle in east Columbus

The pedestrian was struck in the area East Livingston Avenue and South Cassingham Road around 9:42 p.m., according to police.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in east Columbus Tuesday night.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, the pedestrian was struck in the area East Livingston Avenue and South Cassingham Road near Bexley around 9:42 p.m.

Sgt. Joseph Albert said there was a minor crash that happened at the intersection and no one was hurt. However, the driver of one of the vehicles in the crash went to check on the other driver. As he did that, Albert said a vehicle struck and critically injured him. He was taken to Grant Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene. Albert said police performed a field sobriety test and she was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence and she was arrested.
