COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man died after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a road in west Columbus on Wednesday.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers received a call about a pedestrian struck in the 5400 block of Fisher Road near Hilliard-Rome Road around 5:45 p.m.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.
The pedestrian, only identified as a man, was taken to Grant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police said he died at the hospital at 6:20 p.m. The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified the man as 27-year-old Isaiah Sullivan.
According to police, the man was crossing Fisher Road when the driver of the truck struck him.
Police said no charges have been filed as of Wednesday evening as it is believed the man was crossing Fisher Road, where no crosswalks were present, from the north to the south in heavy traffic when he was struck.
