COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man died after he was struck by a truck while crossing a road in west Columbus on Wednesday.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers received a call about a pedestrian struck in the 5400 block of Fisher Road near Hilliard-Rome Road around 5:45 p.m.
The pedestrian, only identified as a man, was taken to Grant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police said he died at the hospital at 6:20 p.m.
According to police, the man was crossing Fisher Road when the driver of the truck struck him.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.
