COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person died after getting hit by a vehicle in southeast Columbus on Thursday.
Police were called to the intersection of South Hamilton Road and Eastland One Drive around 4:40 p.m.
A woman was driving south on South Hamilton Road when a male walked into the road and was struck.
The person was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition and died around 5:10 p.m., according to police.
The passenger in the vehicle was partially ejected through the front windshield and suffered head injuries. They were taken to Mount Carmel East in critical condition.
Police said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
