MARION, Ohio — A man and a woman were killed in a crash in Marion County on Monday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11:10 a.m. at the intersection of state Route 309 and Marion Williamsport Road.

A woman was driving a 2015 Dodge Durango eastbound on state Route 309 and a man driving a semitrailer was driving northbound on Marion Williamsport Road.

OSHP said the semi driver failed to yield and crashed into the Durango as the SUV entered the intersection.

The semi continued off into the northeast corner of the intersection and hit two signs and a utility pole. The Durango was pushed into a ditch.

Two passengers in the Durango, 85-year-old Thomas McClaren and 84-year-old Nancy McClaren, both of Kenton, were taken to Marion General Hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver of the Durango and the semi suffered non-life-threatening-injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
