Incumbent Jim Jordan wins reelection to US House in Ohio’s 4th Congressional district

Wilson and Jordan previously battled for the seat in the 2022 election where Jordan won by a margin of nearly 40%.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Incumbent Republican Jim Jordan defeated Democrat Tamie Wilson and won reelection for Ohio's 4th congressional district on Tuesday, AP projects.

Jordan has held the seat in the United States House of Representatives since 2007. 

Wilson and Jordan previously battled for the seat in the 2022 election where Jordan won by a margin of nearly 40%.

This will be his 10th term.

Jordan was nominated for Speaker of the House last year but did not win the position. 

Wilson, a Columbus native, is an entrepreneur and small business owner who became interested in working in politics after closing her business due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Her website states that she is “committed to bridging the gap between the people and their government, ensuring that the everyday concerns of Ohioans take center stage in Congress.”

What time will Ohio election results come in?  

Expect to see the first results shortly after 7:30 p.m. Absentee ballots are the first votes counted, according to the Secretary of State's office.
