NWS: EF1 tornado with winds up to 110 mph responsible for damage south of Zanesville

Authorities say there are no death or injuries reported.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down in Muskingum County Tuesday morning.

NWS meteorologists estimate wind speeds up to 110 mph. Crews are surveying the damage to confirm the tornado's path and damage.

Authorities say there are no death or injuries reported.

Several tornadoes touched down near the Indiana and Ohio border. This tornado was a part of a severe thunderstorm that moved through the area late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

NWS has teams conducting several other site surveys in Greene, Mercer, Montgomery, Pickaway and Hocking County.

There were several reports of minor injuries due to the storms and at least one confirmed death in Mercer County.
