Ohio artist sketched the Maine shooting victims, drove 700 miles to hand deliver the portraits

PORTLAND, Maine — Ron Moore Jr. traveled more than 700 miles to "love on Lewiston" and, honor the victims of Maine's deadliest mass shooting.

The Ohio based artist has spent the last three weeks memorializing all 18 of the people killed last month in Lewiston. This weekend, he will hand deliver the portraits to their families at a private ceremony.

"A poet or an author can write a book or write a poem that touches your heart. A minister can preach a sermon that could minister to your heart and your soul. I like to take all of those, and put it into artwork," Moore said. "Nothing can take away the grief or sorrow that these people feel but...art, in my mind, can touch lives and hearts that music or nothing else can."
