COLUMBUS, Ohio — Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced that hundreds of employers have listed more than 41,000 essential job openings on coronavirus.ohio.gov/jobsearch.
"When we talk about the people who have lost jobs, there are also a number of employers out there, as I say every day, who are hiring to fill those essential business roles," Husted said during Wednesday's press briefing.
According to Husted, there are 669 employers with 41,433 jobs available on the website.
Companies that are hiring include LiveOps, Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, CVS Health and FedEx Ground.
Earlier this week, 10TV spoke with Ohio Department of Job and Family Service Director Kim Hall about common questions asked regarding unemployment, such as what will happen for people's benefits if they get back to work before the state's system is working or those who didn't make enough to qualify for unemployment.
10TV is also partnering with the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio, Ohio Means Jobs, One Columbus and the city Chamber of Commerce for virtual hiring events.
The next hiring event begins Thursday, April 16, and you can register by clicking here.
