DeWine: Ohio Amusement parks, casinos, water parks can reopen June 19

Casinos, racinos, amusement parks and water parks can reopen June 19, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Friday as he addressed some of the last parts of the Ohio economy that remained shut down by the coronavirus pandemic.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Casinos, racinos, amusement parks and water parks can reopen June 19, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Friday as he addressed some of the last parts of the Ohio economy that remained shut down by the coronavirus pandemic.

All businesses must follow proper safety guidelines. DeWine said that operators have created "elaborate plans" to protect the public by reducing the number of people and providing sanitation.

DeWine also announced that the state is approving safety plans to allow fans at this year's Memorial Tournament, being held July 13-19 in Dublin. Officials with the tournament said in a post on social media that more details will be released soon.

On Thursday, the governor announced certain indoor and outdoor entertainment venues can open June 10 including zoos, museums and ice skating rinks.
