COLUMBUS, Ohio — New movie and music releases seem to have inspired some of this year’s most popular Halloween costumes.
To no one’s surprise, the most popular Halloween costume for the Columbus area this year is Taylor Swift. The singer released her new album "The Tortured Poets Department" earlier this year and has been traveling the world on "The Eras Tour."
Searches trending on Google show the top five costumes that central Ohioans are looking at:

Just to the north, the trending costumes look a little different with Deadpool taking the lead.

Nationally, it looks like people are inspired by the new “Beetlejuice” movie. Both Shrunken Head Bob and Delores took a spot in the top 10, with Shrunken Head Bob as the top search overall.
In second is Raygun, inspired by Rachael Gunn, the Australian Olympian who went viral for her break dance performance. Catnap, a smiling critter, is the No. 3 top search.
