(WTOL) - If you’re looking for a Christmas experience that’s unlike any other, you won’t even have to leave the state.
The Christmas Cave at White Gravel Mines is located in Minford, southeast of Cincinnati.
According to the Christmas Cave Facebook page, the cave features thousands of lights and biblical scenes illustrating the birth of Christ.
"Upon entry, you'll go back in time to Bethlehem and walk through all the life-sized scenes surrounding the wonderful night that proclaimed, "Joy to the World!" The passageways of the Mines are vast and remarkable and lit with vibrant colors highlighting the locally handcrafted scenes," the Facebook page says.
There is also an underground gift shop with commemorative items.
The mile-long attraction is self-guided and free of charge.
Just bring $2 for parking. A $1 donation per person is also encouraged so the cave can continue every year.
The Christmas Cave is open early this year on Nov. 22 and runs every Friday and Saturday until Dec. 21. from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
According to the Christmas Cave Facebook page, earlier in the season and December Friday nights are the best times to come to the cave.
They also warn that they are not handicap accessible, but do offer special handicap hours so drive-thru visitors can enjoy the cave.
Those hours have not yet been announced.
The full dates this year are Nov. 22, 23, 29 and 30 and Dec. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21.
