Amusement parks in Ohio can reopen starting June 19 but plans were announced Tuesday for Cedar Point and Kings Island to reopen in July with new safety precautions in place after being closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Cedar Point will open July 9 to season, gold, and platinum passholders.
Guests at the resort can visit the park starting on July 11.
Kings Island will open to season passholders on July 2 and daily ticketholders on July 12.
New safety guidelines at the parks include:
People will need to need to make reservations for a visit "in order to maintain limited capacity."
Guests and employees will need to undergo a health and temperature screening before going into the park
Guests and employees will be required to wear a mask at all times
Social distancing markers and signs will be in place throughout the park
Touchless transactions
Limited guest and employee contact
Improved cleaning procedures in high-touch areas
Additional hand sanitizing stations
Season passholders will be given an invitation to make reservations first, followed by guests who pre-purchased day tickets.
