COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has certified the official results of the November election, his office announced Monday.
The results show that more than 5.8 million ballots were cast — the state’s second-highest voter turnout on record. The biggest turnout was recorded during the 2020 general election.
The participation rate in the state was 71.7%, with 5,851,387 out of 8,159,946 registered voters casting their ballots, according to LaRose’s office.
“I can’t say enough great things about the dedication of our frontline election staff and their volunteers who make everything look so easy,” LaRose said in part. “Elections require an incredible amount of careful preparation, training and logistics, and this year we saw that come together to great effect.”
The final results include all late-arriving absentee ballots postmarked by Nov. 4 and all eligible provisional ballots.
In Franklin County, LaRose’s office counted 608,855 ballots, accounting for 67% of the total registered voters in the county.
In Delaware County, nearly 82% of all registered voters cast a ballot, making it one of the counties with the highest turnout numbers in Ohio.
