OHIO, USA — Four school districts in central Ohio are closed Friday after strong storms rolled through the region Thursday evening.
The following schools have canceled classes on Friday:
- Big Walnut Local Schools
- Indian Lake Local Schools
- Olentangy Schools
- Genoa Christian Academy
Indian Lake Schools will be open as a shelter for those whose homes sustained damage in the storm. They said their power was out and are relying on backup generators.
The storms that rolled through Ohio caused significant damage, specifically in the Logan County community of Indian Lake.
Logan County Sheriff Randall Dodds said that downed trees, gas leaks, fires and fallen power lines have prevented first responders from accessing certain areas where assistance may be needed.
