Officials: Northeast Columbus fire sends 4 to Nationwide Children’s

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, the fire started shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of Karl Road.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four people were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital after a fire in northeast Columbus Wednesday evening.

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, the fire started shortly after 6:30 p.m. at a two-family duplex in the 5300 block of Karl Road.

According to the fire department, the four people transported had minor injuries and burns.

No adults were home at the time of the fire, according to officials on scene. Everyone was out of the building once medics arrived.

A fire investigator is on scene determining a cause of the fire.

Four adults and four children are getting assistance from the Red Cross.
