OBETZ, Ohio — A suspect is in custody following a chase and crash involving an Obetz police cruiser Monday morning. A portion of Groveport Road is closed.
The crash happened just before 7:45 a.m., according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
A spokesperson with the sheriff's office told 10TV that deputies spotted a suspicious somewhere in the area. The Obetz Police Department confirmed that there was a chase that stemmed from a theft case.
While further details were not provided on what led to the crash, authorities said a suspect ran away from the scene and was later caught.
Obetz police said that no officers were injured in the incident.
Groveport and Williams roads are closed as police investigate the crash. it is unclear how long it will be closed for.
The sheriff's office is assisting with the investigation.
