Police: Teen fatally shot following altercation in North Linden

It is believed that the teen was involved in an altercation with possibly three other people when he was shot.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A teenage boy was shot and killed in the North Linden neighborhood following an altercation Wednesday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of East Weber Road on a report of a shooting. A 911 caller told the dispatcher that a male had been shot.

Police arrived at the location and found the teenage boy lying on the sidewalk on the south side of East Weber Road.

The teen was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries at 12:35 a.m.

Police are working to identify the shooting victim, but said it is believed he was in his mid-to-late teens.

Investigators interviewed witnesses at the scene, and it is believed that the teen was involved in an altercation with possibly three other people when he was shot.
