DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — One woman is dead and four people were injured in a crash in Delaware County Friday evening.
According to the Delaware post of Ohio State Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened near the intersection of State Route 521 and North Galena Road around 5 p.m.
According to OSHP, a woman, 39-year-old Kenze Cox of Sunbury, was driving a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C250 east on State Route 521. Authorities say there were also two female juveniles inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
A Columbus woman was driving a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser south on County Route 34. A female juvenile was also a passenger inside the PT Cruiser.
Authorities say the driver of the PT Cruiser did not yield at a stop sign and hit the Mercedes-Benz as it was going through the intersection. Both vehicles then went off the south side of State Route 521 and came to a rest.
OSHP says Cox died at the scene. The woman who was driving the PT Cruiser was taken to Grant Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries. Authorities say the driver of the PT Cruiser was wearing a seatbelt.
Three others were transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital.
There is no word on conditions of those who were transported.
OSHP is currently investigating what led to the crash.
