More than 3,000 elected and appointed county officials from around the United States are making their way to Columbus this week for the annual National Association of Counties (NACo) conference.

Commissioners from rural and urban counties alike are gathering to exchange ideas and plans.

The conference allows these county representatives to network and educate each other in an effort to improve people's lives from a county government standpoint.

10TV caught up with one commissioner who traveled all the way from Lincoln County, North Carolina.

"A convention such as this you get to meet people from all over the United States," said commissioner, Anita McCall. "Other commissioners that have already had the same issues that perhaps my county is facing, and how they were able to get past those."

Visiting county officials will have the opportunity to tour various sites around Columbus, including Huntington Park, the North Market, the Ohio Statehouse and more.
