DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio – A man is indicted after he led police on a chase that exceeded more than 100 miles per hour, according to the Delaware County prosecutor’s office.

Police tried to pull over Austin Schnars, of Mt. Gilead, after they say his car had no license plate and he was weaving through traffic on State Route 3 on April 23.

Schnars did not stop and he led them from Delaware County to Morrow County.

The prosecutor’s office said he passed vehicles on the wrong side of the road and did not stop at several stop signs.

Schnars eventually ended up in a cornfield and ran from the car before he was taken into custody.

He is charged with failure to comply with an order from a police officer, having weapons while under disability, and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

An arraignment date for Schnars has not been scheduled.
