JERSEY TOWNSHIP -- A 39-year-old Mount Vernon woman died as a result of a crash on Worthington Road Monday afternoon.
Troopers from the Granville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Worthington Road in Jersey Township, east of New Albany. The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Monday.
Kerry Mintier, 39, of Mount Vernon was driving eastbound in a 2004 Honda Accord on Worthington Road when it went left of center striking a westbound 2016 Caterpillar dump truck driven by Amy Scott, 30, of Ashville. Mintier was transported to Grant Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Scott was treated on scene.
Both parties were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol/drug use is unknown at this time. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds all motorists to avoid distractions when driving.
The crash remains under investigation.
