MORROW COUNTY, Ohio — Two motorcyclists were killed in two different head-on crashes in Morrow County on Monday and Tuesday.
The first crash happened Monday around 4:30 p.m. on state Route 97.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of a Honda Accord was heading eastbound when he went left of center after a curve in the road. Kyle Jackson, 37, of Galion, was driving a Honda Goldwing motorcycle westbound when he was hit head-on by the Accord.
Jackson was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Accord sustained minor injuries, according to OSHP.
A three-vehicle crash happened Tuesday, just after 6 a.m., on state Route 314 near Township Road 49 in Troy Township.
According to troopers, 51-year-old Joseph Oman was driving a Harley Davidson Road Glide northbound and went left of center on a double yellow line.
Oman reportedly struck a Honda Civic heading southbound head-on. A Chevrolet 2500 HD traveling behind the Honda hit the vehicle in the back.
Oman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with serious injuries.
The other driver was not injured.
It’s unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in either of the crashes. Both remain under investigation.
